A Delhi court had remanded Delhi CM and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal to ED’s custody, till 28th March.

The remand was passed by the Rouse Avenue court’s special judge, Kaveri Baweja after she heard the detailed submission by the ED.

The ED had sought custody of Arvind Kejriwal, whereby he was held as the key conspirator as he was directly involved in formulating the liquor policy.

The Attorney General (ASG) has accused Mr. Kejriwal of deliberately disobeying the summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and refusing to cooperate with the investigation.

According to Mr. Raju, Mr. Kejriwal was non-cooperative during the investigation and did not provide accurate information during the search.

The ASG intends to interrogate Mr. Kejriwal and gather relevant information. Furthermore, the ASG argued that the kickbacks received through the liquor policy scam were used by AAP to fund the Goa assembly elections.

The ASG stated that there is concrete evidence of a scam and fraud in the excise policy.

Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who appeared for Mr. Kejriwal, opposed the ED’s plea for remand. He stated that the statements of witnesses cannot be used to arrest Mr. Kejriwal because of the pattern it reveals.
