“Laws should be in the language of the common man”

Last Updated on September 24, 2023 by News Desk

It was noted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the event of the International Lawyers Conference on ‘Emerging Challenges in Justice Delivery System’ that an important role is played by language when it comes to ensuring access to Justice.

He said that laws should be drafted in a way that can be understood by the common man.

He stressed the fact that citizens should always feel that the law belongs to them.

Therefore, he highlighted that the new laws are being drafted in simpler language.

He also congratulated CJI DY Chandrachud for making available the operative parts of the judgments in the language of the litigants.
