B.A.L.L.B(Honours in Adjudication and Justicing): A Bench dedicated course in MNLU

The course would prepare and train students who have a vision to join the judicial services. It aims at training judiciary aspirants while pursuing legal education. Its curriculum focuses on pluralism, social integration, and socio-culture structure of the state.

Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur last year in December came up with a new honours degree for the undergraduate students( B.A.LL.B. Honours in Adjudication and Justicing). The five year course involves practical training, which include regular internships and judicial clerkships, along with six-month apprenticeship in the final semester under the guidance of High Court and district court judges. The course would open the right window for judiciary exams as the field visits and practical approach will pave way for better understanding of socio-economic and legal issues.

Needless to say the importance of the bench side of the justice delivery system in any system. Integrity, impartiality, open-mindedness, sense of justice, sympathy, truth-seeking approach, fairness, ethical values are sine qua non for a justice delivering body. To hone these qualities a person needs to pass through rigorous practical and theoretical training and approach. As developing such kind of temperament and attitude needs not only theoretical classroom study rather they have to go through the practical exposures for the same.

The new course B.A.LL.B. (Honours in Adjudication and Justicing) launched in MNLU, Nagpur, a first of its kind in our country to cater and develop the same sort of qualities that can add value to the justice delivery system. As the Vice-chancellor of MNLU is very excited for waiting for the year 2025 when its 1st batch will pass out.
