The Centre has formed a committee to streamline revenue litigation pending before the Supreme Court, solicitor general Tushar Mehta told the top court on Friday after the judges sought reduction in long delays in filing tax appeals.
Under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA 2005), a case has been filed against the famous Bollywood singer and rapper YoYo Honey Singh (Hridesh Singh) by his wife Shalini Talwar. Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court has issued notice to the singer and sought his response over it.

Madras High Court rejected the petition filed by Tamil Actor Vijay in the year 2012. Petitioner contended upon the demand of entry tax on his imported Rolls Royce Ghost car. Further, Justice SM Subramanian imposed Rs 1 lakh on the Actor for eluding the entry tax. Court further directed the actor to contribute the money to the Tamil Nadu’s Corona relief fund.

The draft LDRA gives the government powers to choose any plot of land for development and can override any public opposition.
It was enacted under Article 240 of the Indian Constitution. President has the power to make regulations for the peace, progress, and good government of the Union territory of Lakshadweep under the Article. The letter expressed that, “The draft LDAR is disassociated from the social, cultural, economic and environmental realities of the Lakshadweep islands. We find that the draft LDAR not only fails to address its stated purposes of good governance, the conservation and promotion of public health, safety, and general welfare of the people but rather goes against these and will facilitate land grab and ecological destruction on these special islands.”
